Remember

September 11th, 2012

Eleven years ago this morning, our country was attacked by terrorists.

The terrorists believed that they were targeting symbols of our economic strength and of our government. The truth is that they were attacking innocent Americans, murdering people and leaving thousands of families to grieve.

In the years since then, our country has rightly focused on defeating and dismantling al Qaeda.

But we mustn’t forget the people who responded first in the face of tragedy. We mustn’t forget the people who lost their lives or their loved ones. We mustn’t forget that some children lost parents who loved them. They’ve borne the worst of this burden, and that is why they are in our thoughts and our prayers.

I hope you will take a moment today to reflect on their lives.

Sincerely,
Kyrsten
