Silly vs. Sleazy

August 21st, 2012

There’s an old saying about the final week of an election campaign: the silly season is on us.

But there’s a difference between political attacks that are silly and smears that are just plain sleazy.

The new smears directed at Kyrsten Sinema should have no place in democracy. Kyrsten has been a strong ally in the fight for justice and fairness. She took Joe Arpaio to court. She voted against SB1070 and stood up to Russell Pearce, publicly debating him and laying out the case against his terrible bill. Then she spoke out nationally.

Other Democrats ducked.

Please support Kyrsten today by donating $25, $50 or $100 to help send her to Congress.

In all my years of political organizing in the Latino community, I have worked with many allies from across this country. I know the real deal when I see it.

Kyrsten Sinema is someone I trust to go to Congress and work to pass the DREAM Act, work for fairness and stand up against the ugly politics of division that targets Latinos in particular, and does real damage to the fabric of our entire country.

The attacks aimed at Kyrsten from these out of state groups are not credible. Please help withstand this assault by donating $25, $50 or $100 today.

Most sincerely,

Danny Ortega
Civil Rights Attorney and Community Leader

P.S. With the election just 8 days away, you contribution of $25, $50 or $100 means a lot today!
