NATIONAL COMMITTEE TO PRESERVE SOCIAL SECURITY AND MEDICARE BACKS SINEMA FOR CONGRESS

October 23rd, 2012

Phoenix, AZ — The National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare has announced its support for Kyrsten Sinema in her race for Congress. NCPSSM has millions of members and supporters who seek to advance the protection of America’s promise to seniors.

Sinema’s opponent, Tea Party-backed Vernon Parker recently faced criticism for rejecting an on-camera fact check exposing his false talking points about Medicare.

The letter of endorsement from NCPSSM reads:

The National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare, on behalf of its millions of members and supporters, enthusiastically endorses your candidacy for election to the United States House of Representatives.

Our nation needs your leadership, vision and determination to fight for working families and older Americans. You earned the endorsement of the National Committee because you understand and support the critical roles that Social Security and Medicare play in the retirement and health security of our nation’s older citizens and their families. You are well prepared to serve the needs of seniors and will make the preservation of Social Security and Medicare a priority in office.

“Each day that Congress makes Social Security and Medicare a partisan issue is another day that we’ve failed on our promise to seniors,” said Sinema. “I’m thankful for NCPSSM’s endorsement and hope that we can all work together in Congress to strengthen and protect Social Security and Medicare.”
