Washington Post: Arizona Senate Race is 4th Most Likely to Flip
October 16, 2017
PHOENIX, ARIZ. – In case you missed it, on Friday, the Washington Post released its list of Senate races most likely to flip in 2018. Kyrsten Sinema’s campaign for the U.S. Arizona Senate seat is #4.
This comes on the heels of the Sinema campaign ending the third quarter with $4.1 million on hand, having raised more than $1 million.
Since jumping into the race at the end of September, both the Cook Political Report and Inside Elections have moved this race to a “Toss Up.”
What they’re saying:
“Sinema will be a challenging opponent…. She is a tireless Member, a good fundraiser ($3.2 million on hand on June 30), and boasts moderate credentials. She is one of five Democrats who was endorsed by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce last cycle.” [Inside Elections]
“Kyrsten Sinema [is] a centrist Democrat with a powerful biography.” [New York Times]
“There is a first-tier candidate in the race.” [Cook Political Report]
Kyrsten Sinema has earned the support of End Citizens United, EMILY’s List, and the DSCC.
