League of Conservation Voters Action Fund Endorses Kyrsten Sinema
April 19, 2018
Today the League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, which works to elect candidates who will support sound environmental policies, announced its endorsement of Kyrsten Sinema for U.S. Senate. Highlights from their statement are included below.
“Kyrsten Sinema recognizes the importance of public lands, the potential to grow the outdoor economy and the critical need to protect clean air and water for Arizona families,” said LCV Action Fund Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld. “Representative Sinema has worked to reduce pollution and protect Arizona’s most treasured places, and we are thrilled to endorse her campaign.”
Kyrsten Sinema has been a long-time supporter of environmental protections and clean energy, since serving in the Arizona state legislature. As a legislator, she was a prime sponsor of many energy conservation and environmental bills, including incentives for clean energy development. In Congress, she has opposed the dirty and dangerous Keystone XL pipeline and voted in favor of limits on methane pollution. Sinema has voted against additional oil drilling and efforts to roll back carbon pollution reductions from new and existing power plants, and she has voted in favor of clean energy initiatives and for wildlife conservation.
In contrast to Sinema’s strong record of protecting Arizona’s public lands, her opponents do not share conservation values. They have repeatedly opposed protecting public lands and have undermined Arizona’s thriving outdoor economy. Arizonans deserve a Senator who will stand up for our public lands and clean energy economy and the jobs and communities they support.

Kyrsten Sinema issued the following statement:
“I’m grateful to stand with the League of Conservation Voters Action Fund in our campaign for the Senate. As Arizonans and Westerners, we treasure our public lands and the role they play in our special way of life. We know Arizona’s parks are vital to our economic success and support jobs and vibrant communities across the state. In the Senate, I will continue working to protect our parks and public lands, promote our outdoor economy, and ensure every Arizona family has clean air to breathe and clean water to drink.”
